(CBS SF) — The U.S. Surgeon General has teamed up with Elmo from Sesame Street to appeal to children directly about getting vaccinated.

In a YouTube video posted on the Dept. of Health & Human Services website, Dr. Vivek H. Murthy and Elmo tell children about the importance of getting their vaccinations on time.

When Elmo expresses concern over getting “shots,” Murthy tells Elmo not to worry because “it’s just a little pinch, and it’s safe.”

Murthy also tells Elmo and viewers to “tell all your friends on Sesame Street to get vaccinated, too.”

Elmo has teamed up in the past with the Centers for Disease Control and the HHS to teach children about staying healthy, such as showing the proper way to cough and sneeze or the best way to wash your hands.
