SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – There are major delays on Bay Area Rapid Transit systemwide, after a deformity was discovered in the trackway between the Civic Center station and 16th Street station in San Francisco.

Here’s what a downtown San Francisco platform looked like just before 3 p.m.
BART officials said the problem was discovered shortly after 9:30 a.m.

Trains were only being allowed to single-track in San Francisco and service was extremely limited from the East Bay.

The crack was discovered after earlier problems in the East Bay Wednesday. A power outage also knocked out afternoon service near the Bay Fair station after a balloon hit a line in the area. All of the down time had people on Twitter using the #BARTpocalypse tag.
