BART Reports 'Major Delays' Due To Equipment Problem At Bay Fair Station
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Bay Area Rapid Transit trains were significantly delayed on the Fremont line after an equipment problem on the tracks.
BART Spokesman Jim Allison said the problem was a malfunctioning switch that is now being switched manually by BART staff. Allison said the problem should be resolved by 1:30 p.m.
Trains headed in the Dublin, Fremont, Richmond and San Francisco directions were affected.
Callers into the KCBS newsroom said they were asked to exit a train headed north and were not initially provided information on the delay, causing frustration for riders:
