SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — Thousands of elite athletes and fun-seekers will take to the streets of San Francisco for the annual running of the Bay to Breakers foot race this Sunday.
The 12K race stretches from the Embarcadero west out onto the Great Highway.
The early part of the race begins as a competition with serious runners followed by the tens of thousands who attend; some who just want to have fun in their crazy costumes, others wearing nothing at all.
Some participants plan to attempt to break a few world records at this year’s race, which begins at Main and Howard streets at 8:00 a.m.
