Woman Gets Arm Stuck In San Francisco BART Station Escalator

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A woman who got her arm stuck in a San Francisco BART station escalator Wednesday afternoon was taken to a hospital but was not seriously injured, BART police and San Francisco fire officials said.

Several callers reported the stuck rider at the Powell Street station starting at 3:47 p.m., according to the fire department.

Firefighters managed to free her arm at 4:16 p.m.

The woman's sweatshirt got stuck as she was heading down the escalator to the station platform, eventually pinching the skin on her right elbow, according to BART police.

She was taken to a hospital but her injuries did not appear to be serious, police said.
