It's Back-To-School For Many Bay Area Kids
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Many Bay Area children started school on Monday. In San Francisco, thousands of kids were back in class.
The 4.0-magnitude earthquake certainly made it a memorable back-to-school day for San Francisco kids and fueled plenty of class discussions.

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee went to several schools to welcome teachers, students and families.
He started the day at the brand new Willie Brown Middle School in the Bayview District. Kids and faculty were excited to be part of this STEM-focused state-of-the-art school, complete with a science lab, digital media lab, and a "maker space" equipped with tools, materials and equipment that students will use to develop and design prototypes

San Francisco Unified Superintendent Richard Carranza said despite the statewide teacher shortage, the city's schools were fully staffed on opening day.
"As we celebrate opening day for SFUSD, I want to commend everyone who worked tirelessly to ensure our students have a teacher in every classroom," he said in a statement. "I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished."
