VALLEJO (CBS SF) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting Sunday afternoon in Vallejo, police said.

Dispatchers received reports of the shooting at about 12:30 p.m.  in the 1100 block of Monterey Street, just east of Broadway.

Officers said found a man, 21, in an alley and suffering from bullet wounds, according to police.

Medics took the man to a hospital where he died, police said. The man’s identity is being withheld until authorities notify his next of kin, according to police.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting to call either Detective Rob Greenberg at (707) 648-4280 or Detective Terry Poyser at (707) 648-4080.
