The 2015 NBA MVP and two-time NBA All-Star has had a busy summer with the birth of his second child, Ryan, and balancing work and family life.
“I think most of the guys, including myself, we’ve had a good summer to be able to get away from the game a little bit and refresh our minds and bodies. So I don’t think that fatigue or the short turnaround from the summer is going to have any effect on us. And we’re going to be ready to go,” he said.
For Draymond Green, winning the championship was amazing, but so was the wedding of teammate Andra Iguodala.
“Going to Andre’s wedding was the most fun I have had in a long time. So that was pretty amazing. I mean, it was you know really the first time all of us have been back together since the championship,” said Green. “It was in Cabo, I had never been to Cabo.”READ MORE: Overturned Tractor Trailer, Fuel Spill Close Southbound Hwy 101/I-880 N Connector in San Jose
Along with attending the game, Warriors fans in the South Bay also have the opportunity to take a photo with the team’s 2015 NBA Championship Trophy in the San Jose City Hall Rotunda between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, according to the team.
San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo will present a proclamation to the team at the event thanking them for their commitment to the San Jose community.
The Warriors, who play their regular season games at Oracle Arena in Oakland, have hosted youth camps and educational events for years in South Bay schools, according to the team. The Warriors also played regular season games in San Jose during the 1996-97 season while Oracle Arena was being renovated.
The Warriors’ regular season opener is scheduled for Oct. 27, when the team will host the New Orleans Pelicans at Oracle Arena. Last year’s players and coaches will receive championship rings at a pre-game ceremony before the season opener.MORE NEWS: San Jose Police Release Video Of Suspect's Car In 2018 Khan Lieu Cold Case Murder
