SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — Despite assurances the technology problems that delayed hundreds of flights over the weekend were fixed, Southwest Airline travelers in Los Angeles are still experiencing problems.

There were almost 500 delays out of the 3,600 flights scheduled Sunday.

Flights leaving from Oakland International and San Francisco International were leaving on time, but passengers at LAX were tweeting about more delays Monday morning.

There were reports some travelers were not able to access the website to print out their boarding passes. The airline said they may have to manually check them in.

Monday morning, the airline released a statement apologizing for the delays and reads in part: “Today we are expecting the technical systems that power our Customer Service to perform normally. Teams worked throughout the night in advance of our first departures to ensure the smoothest operation of our originating and later flights.”

The airline said it was working “to get bags delivered and some delayed or displaced customers into open seats.”

Passengers are advised to arrive at least 2 hours early and to print out their boarding passes in advance.

So far, no word as to what caused the problem, but a spokesperson said it was not caused by hackers.

An estimated restoration time has not been released.
