WEST OAKLAND (CBS SF) — The man suspected in a fatal shooting on a BART train in West Oakland had an interaction with the victim on a bus before the shooting took place, a BART official said Monday.

Police are still working to identify the suspect, who was seen on surveillance footage after the fatal shooting last Saturday.

BART spokesperson Alicia Trost said Monday that the two men had an interaction on a Tri Delta Bus before the two eventually boarded a West Oakland-bound BART train.

The Alameda County Coroner identified the man who was fatally shot on as Antioch resident Carlos Misael Funez-Romero.

The coroner’s report indicated that Funez-Romero was 19 years old and died of  multiple bullet wounds.

The Saturday shooting happened at about 7:40 p.m. and brought transit through the Transbay Tube to a near standstill for hours.
