Governor Of North Carolina In Minor Accident On Hwy 237

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- One person was sent to the hospital as a precaution after the Governor of North Carolina was in a minor accident on Highway 237 following the Super Bowl Sunday night, according to authorities.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Ralph Lee, Governor Pat McCrory was involved in a car crash Sunday night on eastbound Highway 237 east of 1st Street. Lee described the accident as  "minor."

Apparently the governor's vehicle was rear-ended by a Mercedes. CHP said the governor complained of "minor pain," but continued to his destination.

Lee said that one member of the governor's entourage in the car was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
