Millennials Fear Doing Taxes, Survey Shows

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- While very few Americans enjoy doing their taxes, a recent survey revealed that an overwhelming majority of millennials are actually afraid of doing them.

80-percent of millennials say they are fearful about some aspect of doing their taxes, according to a Nerd Wallet survey.

One of the main concerns was leaving money on the table.

"It's easier to push off the problem and just not file them, than actually make the mistake, or potential for a mistake," 23-year-old Thomas said.

Even though they spend the most time online, millennials were more likely to bring their taxes to a professional.

"That is what their specialty is. They have experience in it. They know the ins-and-outs and that's who I want to go to. There's always laws that change every year," Madeline said.
