SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — After attending two fundraisers Friday, President Barack Obama and his daughter Malia boarded Air Force One Saturday afternoon and left the Bay Area.
The morning rain didn’t stop the president from squeezing in a round of golf at San Francisco’s famed Olympic Club, before he took off. The sight of him on the green definitely turned a few heads.READ MORE: Rain Showers Trigger Power Outages Across The Bay Area
“I was just practicing some chipping, and he just rolls around on the third tee,” said Geoff Callan. “He gave me a wave, I gave him a wave — he had a great shot.”
The steady drizzle and heavy fog hung over the course all morning, but it didn’t seem to faze Mr. Obama. Even the leader of the free world can’t control the weather.READ MORE: Dozens of Dogs, Cats Removed From Danville Home
His secret service agents managed the crowd. The stepped-up security created a 2-hour delay for other golfers at the private club. No one complained, though. They just hoped to catch a glimpse of the president.
“Absolutely,” said Matt Raggio, braving the rain. “That’s why I’m out here.”

“He’s got the course all to himself,” laughed former San Francisco Quentin Kopp. “That’s the best part of his golfing today.”
