Trump Campaign Slams Zuckerberg On Veiled Attack Over Immigration
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A spokesperson for the Donald Trump presidential campaign slammed Mark Zuckerberg, one day after the Facebook CEO made veiled comments against the Republican frontrunner's positions on immigration.
"As I look around and as I travel around the world, I'm starting to see people and nations turning inward, against this idea of a connected world and global community. I hear fearful voices calling for building walls and distancing people they label as others," Zuckerberg said at the F8 conference in San Francisco on Tuesday, without mentioning the candidate by name.

"Our lives are connected, and whether we are welcoming a refugee fleeing war, or an immigrant seeking new opportunity…I hope that we have the courage to see that the path forward is to bring people together, not push people apart. To connect more, not less," Zuckerberg went on to say.
The CEO defended his speech in a Facebook post Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Trump spokesperson Katrina Pierson slammed Zuckerberg's comments in an interview with CNBC.
"I think I'll take Mark Zuckerberg seriously when he gives up all of his private security, moves out of his posh neighborhood, and comes live in a modest neighborhood near a border town, and then I'm sure his attitude would change," Pierson said.
"The CEOs in Silicon Valley should focus on innovation and jobs and their businesses and let the politicians make their policies," Pierson added.
The Republican frontrunner has not gained many friends among Silicon Valley leaders. Hewlett Packard Enterprise CEO Meg Whitman, a Republican, said Trump's policies could spark a recession. Former Republican presidential candidate and former H-P CEO Carly Fiorina, has endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas for the GOP nomination.
