NBA Finals Game 7 Ticket Prices Reach New Heights

It's the Game 7 few expected, but everyone wants to see – and the prices are reflecting that.

Once down 3-1, the Cleveland Cavaliers have stormed back in this thrilling NBA Finals, winning Game 5 in Oakland and Game 6 in Cleveland to force a seventh and final game, which will bring the series back to Oracle Arena on Sunday. Given the history of the powerhouse teams and with a championship at stake, prices on the secondary market are high in anticipation of the first Game 7 in the NBA Finals since 2013.

Get-in for the game starts at $808 for a seat in the Upper 205 – the back corner of the arena. Fans looking for better seats can find Upper Midcourt tickets starting at $1,056 for Upper Section 201. Lower midcourt starts at $3,899 for Level 115, and courtside seats are available for as low as $4,445.

For the VIP experience – that is, seats on the court with a true front row view – the priciest ticket is running for $50,000.

All told, Game 7 of the NBA Finals has an overall median price of $3,016. For comparison, prices for Game 5 – the previous championship-winning opportunity for the Warriors in Oakland – reached a $1,200 median price. In fact, Sunday's matchup higher than Kobe Bryant's final game with the Lakers earlier this year, which registered a median price exceeding $2,000.

Tickets for Game 7 went on sale Friday morning at warriors.com, Warriors' officials said.

Tickets for season ticket holders were available at 10 a.m., while tickets for the team's Season Ticket Priority Wait List members go on sale at noon. Tickets for American Express cardholders and Warriors Insiders go on sale at 3 p.m. and the general public can buy tickets starting at 5 p.m.

Fans who join the Season Ticket Holder Priority Wait List or the Warriors Insiders today will also be able to buy tickets for Game 7 before the public, team officials said.

The grand finale of the 2016 NBA Finals tips off at 5 p.m. PT in Oakland.
