Adele Posts Emotional Instagram Message After Cancelling Concert

By Robyn Collins

(RADIO.COM) – An emotional Adele had to cancel her second show in Phoenix, Arizona. The singer was scheduled to appear for the second night, August 17, at Talking Stick Resort Arena, but a cold put her out of commission, reports US Magazine.

Adele broke the news to fans on social media, explaining that she is sick and will have to reschedule. She promised to come back and make up for it, saying, "I'll smash it."

In a video that depicted her without makeup and looking haggard, she said she had been "trying to sing all morning" but added, "Nothing's really happening."

"Hello, everyone, specifically everyone in Phoenix and Arizona," she began in the clip. "I can't do my show tonight, my second show here. I'm really, really sorry. I've had a cold for a couple days, and I've been pushing through it and I did my show last night and I loved it, but I pushed too hard. And my cold has gotten the better of me."

"I'm so sorry to let you down," she continued. I know lots of people would be flying in, from all over. It's the last thing I want to do, but I have to look after myself because I've got so many more shows to do. I'm really, really sorry, have a wonderful evening without me."

The singer is scheduled to complete her tour in Mexico City in November.
