SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — A 20-year-old nursing student was arrested Thursday at the University of San Francisco campus on suspicion of possession, distribution and production of child pornography, according to police.

Sam Kerfoot allegedly had more than 600 images of children, many of whom appeared to be under 3 years of age, according to police.

The investigation began in September, when the police department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit learned that someone was uploading and storing child porn online.

Several media devices were seized during a search of his dorm room, police said. Investigators allege that Kerfoot sent harmful matter to seduce a minor.
