Man Sets Fire To SFPD Patrol Car Near Westfield Mall
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A man was arrested after he allegedly set a police patrol car on fire Tuesday afternoon in downtown San Francisco, police said.
Officers were out of their patrol vehicle around 4 p.m. Tuesday and walking a foot beat patrol in the 800 block of Market Street, near the Westfield San Francisco Centre mall and Union Square shopping district, when a man approached the parked vehicle.
Police said the suspect then opened the rear door and lit the back seat on fire before fleeing on foot.
A 34-year-old man was arrested in the incident, but police have not yet released his name.
