3.1 Magnitude Quake Strikes Near Hollister

HOLLISTER (CBS SF) --A 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck near Hollister Monday afternoon.

The quake was about 11 miles SSE of Ridgemark, according to the United States Geological Survey.

USGS seismologists said the quake was on the San Andreas fault, which runs from the Gulf of California, north to the region of Cape Mendocino.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.
