Suspect Leaves Wallet Behind After Punching BART Police Officer
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- A BART police officer was allegedly punched in the chest by a suspect who the officer was trying to detain Thursday at the West Oakland station, police said Friday.
The incident occurred at about 8:20 a.m. at the station at 1451 Seventh St. in Oakland.
Police said the suspect, who they identified as 29-year-old Oakland man Virgil Ard, got away but left his wallet with identification inside.
A warrant was being sought for Ard's arrest.
