2 Fresno County Children Shot While Sitting In Parents' Car

SELMA, Fresno County (AP) -- Authorities in central California say two children are recovering after being shot while sitting in their parents' car.

Selma police tell KFSN-TV the siblings , ages 6 and 7, were in the back seat of the car when it was struck by gunfire Sunday.

The children were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Selma police believe the family was on their way home from church when the shooting happened. Police say at least ten shots were fired.

They say it may be a case of mistaken identity or that they were caught in crossfire.

Multiple witnesses describe seeing a white vehicle circling in the area around the time of the shooting.
