The CBS Local Media stations in the Bay Area: CBS 5, The CW 44 Cable 12, KCBS All News Radio, 997 Now, Alice @97.3, Live 105 and cbsSF.com are taking action to raise funds for the American Red Cross relief effort in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy on the east coast.
On-air personalities and employees from the stations, local officials and celebrities and the American Red Cross will staff a phone bank on Thursday, November 8th from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. to take pledges for the American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. In addition, CBS 5 Eyewitness News and KCBS All News 740 & FM 106.9 will have live reports throughout their newscasts.
To contribute, listeners and viewers will be able to call 1-888-5-HELPS-U (1-888-543-5778) on Thursday or donate $10 to the cause by texting REDCROSS to 90999. You can also make an online contribution by clicking here.
