Best New Year's Eve 2015 Parties In The Bay Area

With New Year's Eve just around the corner, San Francisco is the place to be for the best and largest parties in the Bay Area. While thousands of people are expected to watch the annual fireworks show along the Embarcadero and others might be enjoying a party cruise on San Francisco Bay, others will be dancing the night away at some of the city's most famous hotels and venues. But for those who are interested in attending the top parties yet are still undecided, there's no time to waste since tickets went ahead sale before Halloween. Here is a preview of five of the best New Year's Eve parties in San Francisco.

The historic Palace Hotel will be the scene for what promoters are describing as "San Francisco's  number one New Year's Eve Party." Hosted by Aykut Events, the party will feature three separate rooms, including the iconic Garden Court with its breathtaking glass atrium, 10 DJs and a hosted premium open bar. General admission tickets include access to all rooms with hosted premium open bar serving top alcoholic beverages like Belvedere vodka, Don Julio tequila, Johnny Walker Black and Hennessy cognac. Among the high profile DJs spinning house music, Euro, salsa, hip hop and more are DJ AykutDr. T, Santero and Kevin Armstrong. Sold out for 13 consecutive years, the "original and longest running multi-city themed New Year's Eve" event in the city returns to the Parc 55 Hotel near Market Street. Once again, this popular San Francisco party is poised to host world-class DJs like Chris Clouse, K-Mac and Supreme on five dance floors, each with a distinct theme based upon five American cities such as Las Vegas, Hollywood and Miami. NYE Massive 2016 also offers a Super VIP ticket, with expedited admission and access to an exclusive VIP section and table/bottle reservations for up to six guests, which includes a choice of a liter of Grey Goose, Patron or Hennessy, along with mixers and a bottle set up. Union Square's landmark Westin St. Hotel will once again welcome guests in what is expected to be one of the the largest NYE events in San Francisco. Entering its ninth year, the event described by Rolling Stone magazine as "mind blowing, the most amazing party ever" will feature 11 different areas, seven rooms of music and 17 DJS, including appearances from popular local spin masters like Kommander and DJ Pleez.

Also scheduled to appear are stilt walkers from Catalyst Arts, DJ Reggie Soares  and 80s cover band The Spazmatics. Passport to the World refers to each of the seven rooms, with themes based upon the U.S. and continents like South America, Europe and Asia, in addition to a North Pole room, where guests can "chill out with the polar bears or relax in personal igloos." Tickets range from general admission, which includes all beverages and admission to all entertainment and general areas, to a VIP table on the USA dance floor with eight seats, four bottles, party favors and all gratuities. Passport to the World reportedly has the largest balloon drop in San Francisco.

Fort Mason will easily be one of the hottest party destinations for EYE Hearts SF seventh annual Streets of San Francisco New Year's Eve. Billed as the city's top NYE party for the 21 and over crowd, this year's event will feature award-winning DJ Girl Talk and Oakland's popular rapper, actor and producer Too $hort.

Also scheduled to appear live are hip hop producer and DJ Amp Live and DJ Aaron Axelsen from Live 105. The Streets of San Francisco will also host a premium open bar, a world class music festival-styled production and what's described as the top bartender to guest ratio of any competing party in the country. A general admission ticket includes open bar and all of the live performances. The top-tiered pass is the Ultra VIP, allowing ticket holders to party right next to the performers on stage.

The Flaming Lips, Ratatat, and leading Bay Area DJ Tycho are among the headliners for San Francisco's biggest party for the 18 and over crowd. To be held at the historic Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, guests over 21 may purchase alcoholic drinks and VIPs will receive complimentary tapas provided by Presidio Pizza. Other food booths will be available as well as full bars in both the general and VIP areas. The music lineup is also scheduled to feature Brooklyn-based DJ Gramatik, DJ Geographer, EDM artist XXYYXX and seven other music artists. The Big One replaces the Sea of Dreams, the popular event also held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium for the past 15 years.
