2 Arrested In Connection With Teenager's Shooting Death In San Francisco's SoMa Neighborhood

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Two San Francisco men were arrested Tuesday in Fremont in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old man in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood, police announced Wednesday.

Darius York, 34, and Joseph Young, 33, were arrested in Fremont around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after Daniel Beltran, also of San Francisco, was fatally shot around 5 a.m. in the lobby of a building in the 100 block of Sixth Street.

Officers had initially responded to a 911 call that reported someone was hurt in the area of Sixth and Minna streets, but when they arrived there were no victims, according to police.

Shortly afterward, Beltran was brought to San Francisco General Hospital by friends. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police.

Investigators determined the shooting had occurred in the building lobby just up the street and were able to track down the suspects in Fremont, police said.

York and Young have been booked at San Francisco County Jail, according to police.
