Dumbarton Bridge Lanes Reopen After Spilled Nails Cleaned Up

MENLO PARK (CBS SF) -- Thousands of nails that spilled on the Dumbarton Bridge in a five-car crash Monday morning have been cleaned up and the bridge has reopened, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.

One person suffered minor injuries in the crash, which spilled several thousand nails onto the roadway, Menlo Park Fire Protection District Chief Harold Schapelhouman said.

Two lanes of the bridge were closed while they cleaned up the crash, including the spilled nails. The bridge fully reopened by about 9:30 a.m.
