Singer Chris Brown Says Woman's Claim He Hit Her At Vegas Hotel Is 'Unequivocally Untrue'

UPDATE AS OF 10:40 P.M. ON 1/2/16
LAS VEGAS (CBS/AP) -- A woman has accused R & B singer Chris Brown of punching her during a party at his Las Vegas hotel room.

Las Vegas police are investigating the allegation but Brown's camp said the claim is untrue.

The incident reportedly happened at the Palms Casino Resort early Saturday morning.

According to TMZ, the alleged victim is Liziane Gutierrez. She told the entertainment news website Brown punched her at a private party at his hotel room after she took an photo of him.

"She says was able to get her cellphone into the suite without his security noticing," said the entertainment website. Guiterrez was not taken to the hospital.

Nicole Perna, publicist for Brown, issued a statement Saturday night calling the woman's charges "unequivocally untrue."

The woman "was escorted out of the private after party at the Palms Casino Resort for being disruptive and out of control," Perna said. "Once she was in the hallway, while waiting for Chris Brown's security to bring out her phone, she had a total meltdown -- throwing her purse to the ground and claiming that she `could buy everyone in the hotel' -- as witnessed by numerous people waiting to get into the party. The Palms Casino Resort security also saw her wild behavior via hotel security cameras and immediately came up to the hallway to escort her out of the hotel."

"Her claim that she had her phone in her possession inside the after party and was able to take a photo causing an altercation with Chris Brown is a complete fabrication," Perna said.

Brown performed Friday at Drai's nightclub at The Cromwell Las Vegas, where he appears regularly.

The allegation comes almost a year after a five people were shot and wounded at a private party hosted by Brown at a San Jose nightclub. One of the victims, Paul Briley has since filed a lawsuit against the singer and the venue.

Brown was freed from felony probation last year, after being convicted for attacking pop star Rihanna in 2009. The singer pleaded guilty to felony assault in that case.
