Body Found Of San Francisco Pier 33 Identified As Phoenix Resident

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A man whose body was found floating in the Bay last week was identified by the San Francisco medical examiner's office Thursday as a Phoenix resident.

Marc Tanzer, who was 58, was found at about 5:20 p.m. on April 30 in the water between San Francisco's Pier 33 and Treasure Island, police and medical examiner's officials said.

Medical examiner's investigators concluded that Tanzer's body had been in the water for about two weeks. The cause of his death has not yet been determined.
