Dodger Fan In Confrontation Video Not Suspect In Stow Beating
LOS ANGELES (TMZ) — Juan Banda, the Los Angeles Dodgers fan who was videotaped in a Dodger stadium screaming match with San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow on the day Stow was beaten, told friends on Wednesday that police do not consider him a suspect in the attack.
The website TMZ.com reported that the LAPD went over to Banda’s house early Wednesday morning and Banda told friends that investigators specifically asked him about the bleacher video footage — which shows a pissed-off Banda yelling right in Stow’s face during the game as Stow was rooting for the Giants.
TMZ indicated that Banda gave his side of the story to police, claiming that Stow incited him by yelling he would “rather eat his own feces than eat a Dodger dog.” Officers then informed Banda that he was not considered a suspect in the beating.
A parolee named Giovanni Ramirez has already been arrested for the attack and police have labeled him as the prime suspect.
In another development Wednesday, TMZ also reported that Stow didn’t appear to be worried that Dodger fans were giving him the finger that night he watched the Giants play in Dodger Stadium — instead, he smirked and hoisted his beer.
One of Stow’s friends posted a photo on Facebook, showing Stow and his buddies proudly sporting their team colors in a sea of blue on March 31, while two unidentified Dodger fans photobombed the shot by flipping off the camera.
Stow was brutally beaten in a stadium parking lot after the game and is still hospitalized with very serious brain injuries.
