Tree Smashes Car In San Francisco During Storm

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Heavy rain brought down a tree, smashing a car in San Francisco Tuesday afternoon.

The tree fell on a car on Divisadero Street at Scott around noon during heavy rain.  Wet, windy weather brought down trees in the city Monday, and a large tree branch shut down Highway 85 in both directions when it fell on power lines.

No one was injured.

The Bay Area rain is not expected to end anytime soon, we could see periods of heavy rain Tuesday night with ponding on some roadways and stronger wind across much of the region. Rainfall totals for much of the region will be well above an inch, and it could be the wettest day in San Francisco in five years.
